It starts with your profile

To get the best results, make sure your profile is complete and up-to-date:

• Add your skills, experience and qualifications.

• Highlight if you're looking for permanent or contract opportunities - or open to both, along with your expected salary and/or rate per hour.

• Indicate your preferred job titles, locations and work types (e.g. remote, hybrid, or on-site).

• Specify your availability and desired start date.

A complete profile helps employers find you more easily and ensures that any opportunities they have to share will match your preferences and experience. 

Let the One Degree algorithm work for you

Unlike traditional job boards, One Degree’s best-match algorithm connects you with hiring companies based on the specific criteria in your profile. Employers actively searching for candidates use One Degree to find tech talent that aligns with their recruitment needs. Here’s how it works:

• Your profile is served to employers who are actively searching for your skills that match their job opportunity criteria.

• Employers review profiles and reach out to candidates who fit their requirements using the in platform request to connect form. The form will include more information about the company, the opportunity, expected salary/rate and more, for your consideration. 

Stay alert for opportunities

When an employer is interested in your profile, they’ll send a message through One Degree’s secure messaging system. Here’s how you’ll know:

• You’ll receive a notification about any new messages to your One Degree inbox and copy will be sent to the email address you used to register your account.

• Log in to your One Degree account to view and respond to employer messages directly. 

• If you're interested in connecting about the opportunity, simply hit the 'I'm interested' button and a two way chat will open. Drop the hiring manager a note in the chat to move the discussion forward. 

Take the next steps

Once an employer connects with you, it’s time to explore the opportunity further. Use our platform’s chat feature to:

• Learn more about the role and company.
