How do I search for candidates?

Your quick guide to navigating our search features and connecting with ideal candidates.

Finding the perfect candidate should be straightforward and personal.  Here’s how you can make the most of One Degree’s search function to connect directly with jobseekers.

1. Start your search: click on the pencil icons in our Smart Search bar to set your specific role requirements starting with job title, work type and location. Hit "Find top talent" after setting your criteria. 

💡Tip: be specific with your location - for example, search by city.

2. Uncover the best matches: you'll then see a curated list of jobseeker profiles who fit what you're looking for. Starting with a top match followed by additional candidates who match your criteria —each one a potential match.

3. Get to know your matches: select the view profile button on each profile card, to take a closer look at their CV. From work preferences and experience to education, skills and languages.

💡 Tip: before you can message and connect with jobseekers, you must complete your company profile.

4. Get connected: to connect with a candidate about a job opportunity, use the 'Send Details' button from the expanded view or click 'Message' on the profile results view. We’ve simplified the process with a connect request form—just fill in the key details about the opportunity, and hit 'Send Message'. The form will be sent directly to the candidate’s inbox for their review.

5. Chat directly: if the candidate is intrigued and accepts, a two way in-platform chat is opened and you will now be able to chat directly about the role - no hoops or middlemen required. All your conversations will be neatly organised in your One Degree chat inbox, making follow-ups a breeze.

6. Bookmark your shortlists: keep track of standout candidates by bookmarking them for future outreach or positions.
